The OSTrails maDMP Evaluation Webinar Series is hosting its first session on 12 June 2025, 12:30-14 CET. The series will focus on how Data Management Plans (DMPs) are assessed and designed across various research contexts and stakeholder requirements.

The first webinar is organised in collaboration with TIER2 and it aims to address the challenges faced by funders in DMP evaluation, particularly in relation to research planning, feasibility, and compliance. It also seeks to engage funding organisations and consortia in identifying their priorities and expectations when reviewing DMPs, informing the ongoing development of OSTrails tools designed to enable more consistent and efficient assessments.

The event is targeted at research funders, with a particular emphasis on the Horizon Europe DMP template as a case study. Central to the discussion is the DMP Evaluation Framework, a tool developed to facilitate the semi-automated assessment of structured, machine-actionable DMPs.

During the session, Elli Papadopoulou from Athena Research Center will demonstrate the framework’s practical application, showcasing how it can support funders in evaluating the quality and completeness of DMPs. Attendees will be invited to contribute feedback through a brief survey, which will help refine and validate the framework further.
