TIER2’s second animated highlights practical tools for research reproducibility
As TIER2 comes to a conclusion, we have shared our second animated video highlighting the project’s key outcomes, demonstrating how our work across different research disciplines has addressed the challenges of reproducibility. The video illustrates the complex nature of reproducibility, showing that its meaning and feasibility vary between fields and that practical challenges such as time, workload, and staffing can often hinder efforts to make research repeatable.
The video explains how TIER2 has worked with communities of researchers, funders, and publishers to co-create solutions that support reproducibility throughout the research lifecycle. It highlights the tools and services developed during the project. These include reproducible workflows and checklists for researchers, reproducibility management and promotion plans for funders, editorial guidance and data-sharing policies for publishers, and monitoring dashboards to track reproducibility indicators. The video also emphasises the importance of context-sensitive training, open tools, supportive infrastructure, and incentives that prioritise quality over quantity.
