TIER2's Pilot 8, The Editorial Reference Handbook, was highlighted during the 19th International Digital Curation Conference (IDCC) 2025, held in The Hague, the Netherlands, on 19 February 2025. The IDCC conference focused on reflecting on the past twenty years of digital curation while looking forward to the future, emphasising lessons learned and the directions ahead.

Dr. Rebecca Taylor-Grant, a partner at TIER2, presented the initiative during the session titled “L3 - Making Reproducibility a Reality by 2035: How TIER2 is Enabling Publisher Collaboration for Enhanced Data Policy Enforcement”. She commented on how the Editorial Reference Handbook offers guidance and a set of checks to help journals ensure the findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability (FAIR) of research data.

In addition, Pilot 8 was also mentioned in Open Pharma’s weekly digest as a to-read recommendation. The publication emphasised how the Editorial Reference Handbook is helping publishers make research data FAIR.
