On 6-8 May, the 22nd Annual STS Conference Graz 2024 took place, addressing „Critical Issues in Science, Technology and Society Studies“. The Conference sampled a number of thematic fields as a guideline to address contemporary challenges of the interplay between science, technology and society. 

Under the thematic field of ‘Open Science: Rethinking the Science and Society Relationship’, TIER2 partners Nicki Lisa Cole, Matthew Good and Sven Ulpts coordinated three sessions focused on Open Qualitative Research (OQR), situated within their work in the project.

On 6 May, they hosted two presentation sessions showcasing research into big-picture issues and practical implications for OQR, and brought the threads winding through them together in a workshop the following day. These sessions saw rich engagement and vigorous discussion and debate, which shows an increasing momentum around and interest in the intersection of open science and qualitative research.
