Open Science Award recognises TIER2's Reproducibility Promotion Plan for Funders
The Open Science Working Group at AmsterdamUMC has announced the winners of its annual Open Science Awards, recognising projects that promote and utilise the principles of Open Science. This fall, the group opened a call for submissions, and the Reproducibility Promotion Plan for Funders (RPP) was nominated and soon shortlisted among the top eight projects.
On 21 November, TIER2 partner Barbara Leitner (VUmc) presented the RPP to the jury. Four winning projects were selected, and the Pilot 5 Reproducibility Promotion Plan for Funders was one of them, chosen not only for embodying Open Science practices but also for its promising potential impact.
The RPP provides a comprehensive policy template with actionable recommendations to help funders advance reproducible research practices across three key areas: evaluation and monitoring, policy and definitions, and incentives. It offers guidance and inspiration for research funders to develop robust internal practices that strengthen their funding processes while clearly communicating reproducibility requirements to researchers.
It provides adaptable best practices for policy design, monitoring, and communication, guiding funders to set clear standards, strengthen processes, and enhance research quality, trust, and accountability.
