The “Unconference” is a format that encourages the type of networking that takes place during breaks at traditional conferences. It facilitates a participant-driven, interactive meeting designed to engage stakeholders in collaborative activities and conversations.
The Responsible Research In Action Unconference 2025, hosted by the QUEST Center for Responsible Research, at Berlin Institute of Health (BIH) at Charité, the Einstein Foundation Award for Promoting Quality in Research and EXCELScIOR ERA Chair, at the University of Coimbra, will bring together professionals and experts in the field of research in order to work on proposed projects together.
The event will be divided into three parts, with pre-conference workshops between 2-5 pm on 22 September, while the main unconference, including a key lecture and come together, will take place at 5 pm that same day. The project work will extend from 23-24 September.
A call for proposals is currently open, inviting experts to submit projects they would lead if selected for the event. The goal is to foster responsible research, with each selected proposal receiving a team of 20 people to collaborate on it. Projects can span a variety of topics, including open science, responsible research practices, research funding allocation, or scholarly communication. Each project can have one project leader and one co-leader. Researchers and research-related stakeholders working worldwide, in any scientific discipline and at any stage of their career, are invited to submit their project ideas by Sunday, 9 February 2025, at 23:59 CET.
The Programme Organising Committee will review proposals and evaluate them based on the criteria of feasibility, potential impact, and qualifications of the project lead.
Even if you do not have a specific project idea, but are enthusiastic and motivated to contribute to the realisation of a project, you can join the RRiA Unconference 2025 as a regular attendee. Registration will open by the end of April.
