On 24 April 2024, TIER2 partner OpenAIRE hosted the first Reproducibility Café on Reproducibility Management Plans (RMPs). OpenAIRE has been contributing to TIER2 with a pilot on RMPs through its ARGOS service. RMPs represent an innovative approach that expands the traditional Data Management Plan by integrating critical elements necessary for planning and executing reproducible research.
The event was designed to collect insightful inputs from scientists and research investigators to develop a prototype for RMPs. The café-style meeting was interactive and relaxed, beginning with an introductory presentation about the project activities, the RMP pilot methodology, and the efforts made to date. Participants then engaged in breakout sessions, discussing existing prototypes and proposing ways to enhance reproducibility practices during the planning stage of research.
Two groups of participants evaluated sections of the Science Europe Guidance Document, providing feedback and identifying reproducibility elements in the existing template. They also proposed changes to accommodate more reproducibility elements and domain specificities.
The next Reproducibility Café will take place on 24 May 2024, and will focus on discipline-specific data protocols. Find all the details and registration information here.
These events underline the commitment to promote reproducibility in research, providing a platform for the research community to engage, collaborate, and advance the reproducibility agenda.
