TIER2 is planning a session called "Challenges and Opportunities for Open Qualitative Research" (A.3) at the annual Science, Technology and Society Conference (STS) hosted by TU Graz (Austria) in May 2024.
We invite abstract submissions here by 22 January 2024.
Тhe dual session – consisting of standard conference presentations followed by a workshop – aims to gather practitioners and critics of Open Qualitative Researcher (OQR) to address ongoing questions, concerns and debates on the following topics:
1) Ethical and privacy issues of OQR and their implications for research practice;
2) Reported outcomes of the practical implementation of OQR;
3) The roles of platforms in facilitating OQR, what they are doing to help and what they can do better;
4) Pilots and guidance for back-end challenges like qualitative metadata, data stewardship, and methods documentation;
5) The role of Qualitative Data Analysis Software (QDAS) in OQR.
Аbstract submissions are welcome for both the presentations and workshop sessions. If you wish to give a presentation, a standard conference abstract should be submitted, indicating (additional) interest in participating in the workshop. For those who prefer to solely participate in the workshop – an abstract that describes their interest in and experience with this topic and what they hope to achieve by participating in the workshop should be submitted.
Find out more and submit your abstracts by 22 January 2024 here.
