TIER2 partner Nicki Lisa Cole from the Know Center Research will be speaking at the Ninth Annual Qualitative Research Symposium 2025 on 28 January. 

The symposium focuses on transparency, openness and rigour, with Niki’s talk being part of Session 3A ‘Critical Discussion on Open Research’ happening on 28 January at 15:30. 

Nicki will be drawing on results of a review study she led on reproducibility, open science and qualitative research within TIER2. The review found that many authors perceive significant barriers to open science, data sharing and reuse, with barriers being ontological, epistemological, and ethical in nature. The literature also highlighted that established practices within qualitative research can enable openness, including data sharing, and some forms of reproducibility, like conceptual or methodological replication.
