Building Bridges: Strengthening Reproducibility & Open Science Networks across Europe

16 April 2024

We invite National Open Access Desks (NOADs) and Reproducibility Networks (RNs) across Europe to join us for an interactive event designed to strengthen their connection and enhance future collaborations. Learn more about NOADs and RNs here.

The primary goal of the event is to increase awareness and promote mutual understanding of the overlapping activities between NOADs and RNs, with a specific focus on open science dissemination, community building, and training. Within the framework of the TIER2 project, this event seeks to foster collaboration between these vital stakeholders in the Open Science landscape. This partnership provides a fantastic opportunity to share resources and coordinate efforts, ultimately advancing the overarching objective of enhancing the research ecosystem.

Through a mixture of informative talks and interactive breakout sessions, participants have the chance to identify synergies and potential collaborations, share their insights and ideas, as well as connect with others actively engaged in advocating for reproducible research and Open Science practices.

Talk format

During lightning talks, official representatives of NOADs and RNs across Europe will offer insights into their networks’ organisation and structure, share existing workflows, and reveal lessons learned as well as key take-home messages. Speakers will provide behind-the-scenes information and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive input.

Each talk is scheduled to run between 5 and 7 minutes, offering a concise yet informative overview of the different networks.

Breakout sessions

The talks will be accompanied by interactive sessions to allow participants from RNs and NOADs across Europe to get to know each other and network, share experiences, and discuss topics related to their work in the field of reproducible research and Open Science. We ask all participants to suggest potential themes or topics which they would like to discuss in a larger group.

In the first session, participants will be grouped by their geographical location. While during the second session, participants will have the opportunity to join a topic group of their interest. The specific topics will be announced prior to the event.
